{"id":255736,"date":"2016-10-07T12:01:58","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T12:01:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=255736"},"modified":"2016-10-07T12:01:58","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T12:01:58","slug":"gja-presents-awards-to-2016-best-journalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/gja-presents-awards-to-2016-best-journalists\/","title":{"rendered":"GJA presents awards to 2016 Best Journalists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Journalists\u2019 Association (GJA) has officially presented Hyundai SUV 4X4 to the 2016 journalist of\u00a0 the year,\u00a0 Mr\u00a0Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who was adjudged the Journalist of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Elvis Darko, the 2016 Financial Reporter received a Hyundai Grand i10 as his prize, while the other award winners also received Samsung Smart LED 40 inch Flat screen Television sets.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-255742\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/GJA-Presentation-3.jpg\" alt=\"gja-presentation-3\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mr Roland Affail Monney, GJA President expressed gratitude\u00a0to Ideal Finance, the main sponsor of the awards and other sponsors for taking keen interest in supporting the journalism profession.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the presentation of the awards delayed due to circumstances beyond the control of the GJA leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ekow Blankson, the Director of Corporate Communications and Strategies at the Ideal Groupe, said sponsoring the awards is the company&#8217;s contribution to the growth of journalism in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very happy to do what we have done \u2026 and we don\u2019t regret doing this,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Blankson called on journalists to practice with all ethical standards so as to give Ideal Finance more confidence to continuously support the profession.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-255741\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/GJA-Presentation-2.jpg\" alt=\"gja-presentation-2\" width=\"711\" height=\"474\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On behalf of Mr Aremeyaw Anas, Mr Latif Abubakar of Tiger Eye said: \u201cIt is always interesting when people appreciate the work that you do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the Ghana News Agency Mr Abubakar said the company\u2019s focus was not the award but achieving results.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ben Assorow, the Chairman of the GJA Elections Committee congratulated all journalists for their immense contribution to the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>The GJA as part of its core mandate organised the 2016 awards on August 27 to recognise and honour the deserving Journalists for 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In all, 19 awards were presented to individuals and organisations but some are yet to receive their awards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Journalists\u2019 Association (GJA) has officially presented Hyundai SUV 4X4 to the 2016 journalist of\u00a0 the year,\u00a0 Mr\u00a0Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who was adjudged the Journalist of the year.
