The\u00a0Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) is calling on government to settle outstanding issues concerning the unpaid salaries of their members.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0 association is optimistic that if government makes the effort to pay the outstanding amounts owed them; they will be motivated to provide better services to patients.<\/p>\n
The pharmacists are challenging government\u00a0 over their conversion difference\u00a0 under the Single Spine Pay Policy (SSPP).<\/p>\n
The immediate past chairman of GHOSPA, Raymond Tetteh, told Citi News in an interview that it had taken four years for government to deliberate on the issues.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt a point in time, we decided that if these issues are not being addressed, then there\u2019s no reason why we should do these extra duties. Previously these extra duties were being paid for; they are more or less overtime hours,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He however stated that the association had gone beyond deliberations and was in the process of settling all other pending matters.<\/p>\n
Mr. Tetteh concluded that the association was waiting patiently for a response from a report it had sent to the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n
