{"id":254464,"date":"2016-10-03T14:01:36","date_gmt":"2016-10-03T14:01:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=254464"},"modified":"2016-10-03T14:01:36","modified_gmt":"2016-10-03T14:01:36","slug":"the-johns-have-failed-nduom-is-the-real-deal-ppp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/the-johns-have-failed-nduom-is-the-real-deal-ppp\/","title":{"rendered":"The \u2018Johns\u2019 have failed, Nduom is the real deal &#8211; PPP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Nii Allotey Brew Hammond, has taken a swipe at successive governments in the last two decades saying they have failed to develop the country.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that, Ghana has rather retrogressed under the \u2018Johns\u2019 namely, Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Atta Mills and John Mahama, who have served as presidents in different times since 1992.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Johns have not helped us; John Jerry Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Atta Mills and now John Mahama. The Johns cannot help Ghana. We are moving further back than we ought to be moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Brew Hammond insisted that, because Ghanaians have not experienced much improvement in their lives under the governance of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress in the last two decades, the PPP should be given the chance to effect the needed change in the country.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_254394\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-254394\" style=\"width: 559px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-254394\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/nii-allotey-brew-hammond.jpg\" alt=\"Nii Allotey Brew Hammond\" width=\"559\" height=\"330\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-254394\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nii Allotey Brew Hammond<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cEverywhere you go, there is a problem. Ghana has been described as the second nation after Sudan for open defecation in Africa, does that speak well of our leadership? Isn\u2019t that what is causing our sicknesses; cholera, Malaria, it\u2019s all around us, we were even lucky to have escaped Ebola. Everywhere you go there is a heap of garbage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to be able to have roads that are passable in front of our homes, practically everywhere you go everybody\u2019s home road is not good\u2026all this time the people are voting and if it is not being reflected in their livelihood then it\u2019s time to change and change for Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voting for PPP not a waste<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He also dispelled \u00a0suggestions that Ghanaians would be wasting their votes if they vote for the PPP.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.\u00a0Hammond was hopeful \u00a0that his flagbearer would garner 51% of the votes on December 7 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDecember 7<sup>th<\/sup> is coming, you and I would be able to tell whether there is a change or not. we will win the election by 51 plus three percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Godwin A.
