The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has said it will soon introduce the use of recharge cards to power prepaid meters, as well as\u00a0mobile money platforms for the payment of bills.<\/p>\n
According to the company, the adoption of these payment platforms will bring satisfaction and relief to its customers.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a media briefing in Takoradi, the Western regional Commercial manager of the company, Alex Anwobor, stated that \u201cas part of our outlook to make ECG more efficient and customer friendlier, we are considering introducing scratch cards where customers can buy at any point and time to recharge their credit balance. We are also considering using the mobile money platform to pay for bills. They are at the consideration stages for now\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Anwobor added that \u201cconsiderations are to have our prepaid credits sold at fuel stations to provide a 24-hour sale of the ECG credit\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot only that, we are also making provisions to introduce emergency credit for customers whose credit exhaust in the night, so that they can use the emergency credit that can later be deducted at their next recharge.”<\/p>\n
