The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), headline sponsor of the senior national football team, Black Stars, has expressed confidence in the team\u2019s ability to deliver as they kick-start their 2014 World Cup campaign against their USA counterparts in Natal on Monday.<\/p>\n
In a message to the team, soon on arrival at the Brazilian city of Natal, where the team is based, Monday morning, Mr. Alex Mould, Acting Chief Executive of GNPC, recalled the gallantry of the Black Stars.<\/p>\n
\u201cFour years ago, you held high the flag of Ghana, being the lone star from Africa standing among the best eight soccer nations of the world. Again, over the past three years, you embarked on a journey to be in this line-up of the world\u2019s soccer greats and you have earned your place,\u201d Mr. Mould recounted.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow is the time. Stay focused. You have done it before. We know you can do it again,\u201d he told the players and handlers of the team, adding, \u201cWe at GNPC are happy to be your partner as Headline Sponsor. We wish you a successful tournament,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
GNPC is the Headline Sponsor of the Black Stars with a $3million annual sponsorship package, which commenced in January 2013.<\/p>\n
