{"id":253917,"date":"2016-10-01T16:00:38","date_gmt":"2016-10-01T16:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=253917"},"modified":"2016-10-01T16:00:38","modified_gmt":"2016-10-01T16:00:38","slug":"ndc-cant-respond-to-my-170-facts-bawumia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/10\/ndc-cant-respond-to-my-170-facts-bawumia\/","title":{"rendered":"NDC can&#8217;t respond to my 170 &#8216;facts&#8217; &#8211; Bawumia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Running Mate to the flagnbearer of the \u00a0opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated\u00a0that it is clear the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot respond to what he calls 170 &#8216;facts&#8217; he put out during a public lecture last month, on the state of the economy.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Bawumia said the NDC government after 8 years can only be associated incompetence, corruption and mismanagement of the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the Assin Fosu College of Education, Dr. Bawumia dared the NDC to respond to what he calls the 170 statements of fact, if the NDC government has a superior record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said they wanted to set the record straight. I gave the NDC 170 facts and asked them to respond to them, they have ran away. They have not been able to respond,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGhana, our problem is not money, it is the management of the money. We [NPP] are going to manage the money very well for the good of the country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/08\/bawumia-to-deliver-lecture-on-ghanas-economy-today\/\">Bawumiah at his lecture in September<\/a><\/strong><\/span> painted what he believes is the exact picture of the country\u2019s economy under the NDC. The event, which is thought to be his\u00a0final lecture ahead of the December polls, was under the theme \u2013 \u201cThe State of the Ghanaian Economy \u2013 A Foundation of Concrete or Straw.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finance Minister, Seth Terkper accused Dr. Bawumia of <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/09\/bawumia-selectively-used-debt-figures-terkper\/\">selectively using the data on government <\/a><\/strong><\/span>for his lecture to suggest it was performing badly.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, it was unrealistic for the NDC to borrow 39.9 billion US dollars as announced by Dr. Bawumia since that will be equivalent to Ghana\u2019s GDP.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018I\u2019ll destroy Bawumia\u2019s lies one by one\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, also an economist, and a one-time governor of the Bank of Ghana, said he will challenge each of the \u201clies\u201d peddled by the NPP flagbearer\u2019s running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the launch of the National Democratic Congress\u2019 2016 manifesto at Sunyani, Mr. Amissah-Arthur said the NDC had the \u201cknowledge to respond in equal measure\u201d all the lies by the major opposition party, the New Patriotic Party.<\/p>\n<p>He said he will respond to each of Bawumia\u2019s assertions on his subsequent campaign tours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u2018Setting the records straight\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Democratic Congress in September, resumed its <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/22\/ndc-begins-setting-the-records-straight-series-today\/\">\u201cSetting the Records Straight\u201d series<\/a><\/strong><\/span> ahead of this year\u2019s election, where is responded in parts to Dr. Bawumia&#8217;s claims.<\/p>\n<p>Addressed by Transport Minister Fifi Kwetey, the NDC concluded that they have been better managers of the economy than the NPP.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Jonas Nyabor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Running Mate to the flagnbearer of the \u00a0opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated\u00a0that it is clear the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot respond to what he calls 170 &#8216;facts&#8217; he put out during a public lecture last month, on the state of the economy.
