{"id":253816,"date":"2016-09-30T17:58:58","date_gmt":"2016-09-30T17:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=253816"},"modified":"2016-09-30T17:58:58","modified_gmt":"2016-09-30T17:58:58","slug":"ndc-replaces-afram-plains-mp-nominee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/ndc-replaces-afram-plains-mp-nominee\/","title":{"rendered":"NDC replaces Afram Plains parliamentary nominee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has replaced its parliamentary nominee for the Afram Plains South constituency in the Eastern Region, Joseph Appiah Boateng, on the final day of filing nomination forms ahead of the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Appiah Boateng, who is also the incumbent MP for the area, has been replaced with the NDC\u2019s Eastern Regional Secretary, Oliver Mark-Kevor, following consultations with regional executives and the National Secretariat.<\/p>\n<p>Some reports indicate that the MP took the decision after a court granted a motion by one Dickson Adjei Danso, praying it to prevent him from <a style=\"text-decoration:none; color: #333;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ourhealthissues.com\">http:\/\/www.ourhealthissues.com<\/a> taking part in the race because he is embroiled in a criminal case.<\/p>\n<p>But Mr. Appiah Boateng&#8217;s replacement, Oliver Mark-Kevor, told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0the incumbent MP\u00a0stepped down voluntarily.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe MP has agreed to withdraw. He has agreed to withdraw voluntarily and the MP is being replaced,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Mark-Kevor added that\u00a0it was \u201cimpractical to organize a re-run of the elections looking at the timing so consultations went on.
