The three Vice Chairpersons of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) have accused party chairperson, Samia Nkrumah of running the party in an autocratic manner.

The vice chairpersons in a letter to the party’s Council of Elders said the party is in crisis due to the autocratic leadership style of Samia Nkrumah.

They also accused her of deliberately disregarding opinions of elected leadership, sidelining elected leadership while she nurses her ambition to become the party’s flagbearer in 2016.

The vice chairpersons are claiming that Ms Nkrumah is using her position to solicit for funds for her upkeep since she does not have a paying job.

Speaking to Citi News, a vice chairperson of the CPP, Susan Adu Amankwah said their complaints are for the good of the party.

She stated that none of the national executives of the party “have ever stood for a different position in the party and that is not the way we should go.”

According to her, they are seeking the greater good of the CPP because party supporters voted them into power to effectively run the affairs of the party as well as win political power, therefore, all executives must be united to achieve this end.

Ms Amankwah admitted that “in every family or institution, sometimes there are conflicts but it is the way they are dealt with and resolved.”

They are therefore requesting the Council of Elders to call Ms Nkrumah to order to save the party from disintegration.
