Handing over the motorcycles to the police last Thursday, Madam Sun said more Chinese had located in Ghana and \u00a0invested in various sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n
She noted that the Ghana Police Service played a major role in ensuring an open, safe and friendly environment for businesses to thrive and expressed the hope that the new motorcycles would help the service to discharge its role to enhance security in the country.<\/p>\n
Caution<\/strong><\/p>\n She reminded the Chinese community in the country of the need for them to be law-abiding, cautioning that while the Chinese government was determined to protect the legitimate interests of the Chinese in Ghana, it would not tolerate or cover those who committed crime.<\/p>\n Mr Kudalor thanked the association for the gesture and called on other organisations to emulate the example to complement the government\u2019s effort at providing logistics for the Police Service.<\/p>\n The presentation coincided with the IGP’s duty tour of the Tema Police Command to assess the preparation of the police in the region ahead of the December 7 general election.<\/p>\n Meeting of stakeholders<\/strong><\/p>\n While in Tema, the IGP, who was accompanied by senior commanders of the service, also interacted with the heads of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, the Tema Traditional Council, the Tema Metropolitan Assembly and the Tema Development Corporation and briefed them on some key measures that had been put in place to prevent election violence in the region before, during and after the general election.<\/p>\n The IGP and his team observed a stimulation exercise to test the readiness of the police to handle election violence and also inspected the Regional Police Command’s logistics.<\/p>\n Readiness<\/strong><\/p>\n The Tema Regional Police Commander, DCOP Paul Awini, said in their quest to ensure peaceful elections, 720 policemen had undergone training in public order management and crowd control, adding that the programme was ongoing for others to ensure professional policing ahead of the elections.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n Source: Graphic online<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The China Association of Fujian in Ghana has donated 15 motorcycles to the Tema Regional Police Command \u00a0to support its work.
