{"id":251654,"date":"2016-09-25T10:00:02","date_gmt":"2016-09-25T10:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=251654"},"modified":"2016-09-25T10:00:02","modified_gmt":"2016-09-25T10:00:02","slug":"adabraka-residents-get-free-health-screening-from-abl-graphic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/adabraka-residents-get-free-health-screening-from-abl-graphic\/","title":{"rendered":"Adabraka residents get free health screening from ABL, Graphic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>About 1,500 residents of Adabraka and its environs in Accra, have benefited from a free health screening exercise organized by Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) in partnership with the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL).<\/p>\n<p>The exercise comprised free dental screening, eye care, general medical screening and Hepatitis B and C screening, as well as vaccination.<\/p>\n<p>Some beneficiaries of the exercise under the age of 18 as well as those above 60 were registered onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).<\/p>\n<p>The annual event, according to the Finance Director of Accra Brewery Limited, (ABL), Graham Lurie, fulfils the company\u2019s objective of helping to create a thriving world where incomes and quality of life grows.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Lurie added that, ABL will continue to support the acceleration of growth and social development through its value chains with such health interventions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHealth is an essential component in the development of every community. At Accra Brewery, creating a thriving world also means, investing in people but most importantly it is investing in physical well-being which fosters prosperity for all\u201d he affirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lurie assured the Adabraka community of ABL\u2019s continuous support and thanked its partners in the exercise &#8211; Graphic Communications Group Limited, as well as Voltic (GH) Limited, for donating natural mineral water to refresh the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>The Hepatitis B Foundation and the Accra Diamond Lions Club also provided free services.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_251656\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-251656\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-251656\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ABL-and-Graphic-officials-interact-with-an-eye-specialist-Dr-Sylvia-Boamah.jpg\" alt=\"ABL and Graphic officials interact with an eye specialist, Dr. Sylvia Boamah.\" width=\"750\" height=\"529\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-251656\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ABL and Graphic officials interact with an eye specialist, Dr. Sylvia Boamah.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group Limited, Kenneth Ashigbey, expressed his appreciation to the community for creating a peaceful atmosphere for his company to thrive, noting that, the free healthcare is an expression of gratitude to the people of Adabraka for being a kind host.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past years, ABL has undertaken a number of initiatives aimed at supporting health care delivery in the Ghana, in its quest to augment government\u2019s efforts to attain the nation\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n<p>The company has been investing in an annual free HIV\/AIDS screening for residents of Agbobloshie.<\/p>\n<p>It has for the third year running, been engaged in a campaign to prevent alcohol consumption among pregnant women in a campaign aimed at reaching 5000 women this year.<br \/>\nThis is the eighth collaborative health intervention between ABL and Graphic Communications Group Limited, for the Adabraka community and its environs.<br \/>\n&#8211;<br \/>\nBy: citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About 1,500 residents of Adabraka and its environs in Accra, have benefited from a free health screening exercise organized by Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) in partnership with the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL).
