{"id":24941,"date":"2014-06-15T06:45:31","date_gmt":"2014-06-15T06:45:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=24941"},"modified":"2014-06-15T07:24:22","modified_gmt":"2014-06-15T07:24:22","slug":"suwaiba-determined-to-seek-justice-for-her-missing-baby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/06\/suwaiba-determined-to-seek-justice-for-her-missing-baby\/","title":{"rendered":"Suwaiba determined to seek justice for her &#8216;missing&#8217; baby"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The family of the mother at the centre of the missing baby saga at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Madam Suwaiba Abdul Mumin has expressed dissatisfaction at the report issued by the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>According to the family, the report failed to mention the position of the lost baby which is at the centre of the controversy and indicated its determination to seek justice.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the\u00a0<em>Daily Graphic<\/em>\u00a0, Mr Abdul Rahman, the Spokesperson for Madam Suwaiba, said the ministry did not contact the family or \u00a0Madam Suweiba during the investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, he said the family would request for a copy of the report and after careful study with its lawyers, they would decide on the next line of action.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that it was only the Nurses and Midwifery Council that interacted with the victim and her family about the issue and noted that, \u201cwe are shocked and surprised that the Ministry after failing to contact us on the issue has issued this report which did not mention the missing baby\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the report available to the media is an indication that the Ministry had dealt with what they could and therefore, the family now had the option of using all legitimate means to seek justice.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Rahman said Madam Suwaiba was still in shock and disturbed over her missing baby.<\/p>\n<p>Early this year, Madam Suwaiba Abdul-Mumin 42-year old mother whose stillborn baby\u2019s body could not be found and it led to some Zongo youth besieging the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Some medical staff were assaulted in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday, the Ministry of Health issued its final report in which two midwives at the KATH were suspended for their roles in the controversial missing baby saga that rocked the hospital early this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Principal Midwifery Officer, Ms. Marian Asare, the Midwife in charge of the hospital\u2019s labour ward has been suspended from midwifery practice for four weeks without pay, while Patience Amponsah, who was the head of the night shift, the night on which 42 year old mother, Suwaiba Mumuni lost her baby has also been suspended from the practice of midwifery for two weeks without pay.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Graphic Online<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The family of the mother at the centre of the missing baby saga at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Madam Suwaiba Abdul Mumin has expressed dissatisfaction at the report issued by the Ministry of Health.
