The Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) will hold a rally to observe the one year anniversary of the infamous demonstration over the credibility of the voter\u2019s register in 2015 which saw police brutalize a number of the protesters for veering off the prescribed route.<\/p>\n
The rally will come off tomorrow [Friday], September 16 at Okaishie drug lane at 1pm.<\/p>\n
Expected to speak at the rally are the convener of the group; David Asante, along with Kennedy Agyapong, David, Sammy Awuku, Abu Ramadan, Hopeson Adoye, Ibrahim Adjei, Justice Adzakumah, Charles Owusu and Owusu Bempah.<\/p>\n
The Alliance has said, \u201cin commemoration of that fateful day when a peaceful demonstration was marred by the brute force of the security operatives, LMVCA is therefore calling on all democracy-loving Ghanaians to attend this rally for a progress report on the demand for a credible free fair open and transparent election.\u201d<\/p>\n
Background<\/strong><\/p>\n On September 16, 2015, the LMVCA in collaboration with the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), Movement for Change, some opposition political parties and other civil society groups, held a demonstration to present a petition to the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana to demand a credible voters\u2019 register for the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n
