The\u00a0Minority Spokesperson on Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has rubbished President John Mahama\u2019s claim that the cocoa industry is thriving.<\/p>\n
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP said he was left dumbfounded by President Mahama\u2019s claims during the presentation of\u00a0highlights of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto, saying \u201cI just couldn\u2019t believe what I heard.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDoesn\u2019t he realise that in the last four or five years, the volume of exports of cocoa has been going down and he says cocoa production is up,\u201d\u00a0Dr. Afriyie Akoto retorted, adding that\u00a0President Mahama did not understand the cocoa industry.<\/p>\n
