{"id":247239,"date":"2016-09-10T16:50:51","date_gmt":"2016-09-10T16:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=247239"},"modified":"2016-09-10T16:50:51","modified_gmt":"2016-09-10T16:50:51","slug":"pnc-settles-on-havard-trained-economist-as-running-mate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/pnc-settles-on-havard-trained-economist-as-running-mate\/","title":{"rendered":"PNC settles on Havard-trained economist as running mate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the People\u2019s National Convention (PNC), has settled on\u00a0Emmanuel Anyidoho as its running mate to flagbearer, Dr. Edward Mahama.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the party explained that, &#8220;the choice is hugely influenced by his humility, grasp of the Ghanaian situation and his exemplary and visionary leadership.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel\u00a0Anyidoho, a\u00a0Havard-trained economist, has in the past worked with United Nations (UN), the African Union (AU), the Ministry of Finance and also taught at the University of Ghana, Legon.<\/p>\n<p>This announcement follow the PNC&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/31\/pnc-undecided-on-running-mate-to-dr-mahama\/\">indecision on initial<\/a><\/strong><\/span> day settled for announcement its running mate on August 31.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/3b8f790c-ca47-4012-a0fe-8d8ae42f1af1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-247241\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/3b8f790c-ca47-4012-a0fe-8d8ae42f1af1.jpg\" alt=\"3b8f790c-ca47-4012-a0fe-8d8ae42f1af1\" width=\"600\" height=\"416\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the polls in in December, the PNC joins the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the only traditionally prominent political parties to have named their running mates.<\/p>\n<p>The Progressive People&#8217;s Party (PPP) has also named a running mate.<\/p>\n<p>The Ivor Kobina Greenstreet led-Convention People\u2019s Party (CPP) is however yet to select a running mate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Find below the full statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Five member Committee mandated by National Executive Committee (NEC) to sift through and come out with a suitable Vice Presidential Candidate has after thorough engagement settled on Havard Trained Economist, Comrade Emmanuel Anyidoho as ultimate.<\/p>\n<p>The choice is hugely influenced by his humility, grasp of the Ghanaian situation and his exemplary and vissionary leadership. Comrade Anyidoho has in the past worked with United Nations (UN), worked with the African Union (AU), the Ministry of Finance and also lectured at the University of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>He comes to the table with alot of experience to compliment the exceptional and impecable record of Dr. Edward Nasigrie Mahama.
