{"id":246696,"date":"2016-09-08T10:05:43","date_gmt":"2016-09-08T10:05:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=246696"},"modified":"2016-09-08T10:05:43","modified_gmt":"2016-09-08T10:05:43","slug":"manchester-united-have-edge-over-manchester-city-dwight-yorke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/manchester-united-have-edge-over-manchester-city-dwight-yorke\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester United have edge over Manchester City &#8211; Dwight Yorke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"name post-title entry-title\">Manchester United hold the advantage ahead of Saturday\u2019s derby with Manchester City, according to Dwight Yorke.<\/p>\n<article class=\"post-listing post-61975 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-english-premiership category-news tag-dwight-yorke tag-manchester-city tag-manchester-united\">\n<div class=\"post-inner\">\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>All eyes will be on Old Trafford this weekend as United and City \u2013 and their respective managers Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola \u2013 renew their rivalry live on <em>Sky Sports.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And, speaking ahead of the eagerly-anticipated clash, former Old Trafford favourite Yorke believes home advantage, coupled with Sergio Aguero\u2019s suspension, tips the balance in United\u2019s favour\u00a0despite both clubs\u2019 flawless start to the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very difficult to call this game,\u201d Yorke told <em>Sky Sports News HQ<\/em>. \u201cBoth teams are playing fantastically and both managers have made an amazing start.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe impact Mourinho and Guardiola have had with their teams has been impressive and the players have certainly responded to them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManchester United are turning around and winning games they would have lost last season. Jose has brought the winning mentality back to United.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know Pep is an outstanding manager, we know he\u2019s been a winner wherever he\u2019s been and he seems to have implemented that in his squad at City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very difficult to call this game at this moment in time but I feel Sergio Aguero\u2019s suspension will be a big blow for City, although they still have plenty of quality players to come in there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite that, with the game being played at Old Trafford, I just feel United have the edge over City.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nothing separates United and City heading into the 172nd Manchester derby, after both clubs won their opening three Premier League fixtures before the international break.<\/p>\n<p>As well as claiming the bragging rights in the city, victory on Saturday would see either United or City open up a three-point lead over their neighbours.<\/p>\n<p>Yorke believes it is too early for the outcome of the game to play a crucial role in the race for the title but stressed a positive result, even at this early stage of the season, could have significance as the season goes on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be huge (for the winner),\u201d Yorke added. \u201cNeither club will win the Premier League from this point because it\u2019s simply too early.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, from a psychological point of view, it will be a massive statement from whoever wins this game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will always have one over their arch rivals as the season goes on and their fans will have the bragging rights in the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone is buzzing in and around the city and the world is watching to see who is going to come out on top.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArguably the world\u2019s two best managers go head-to-head and they will want to win this game, it is very important for them going forward for the remainder of the campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Sky Sports<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester United hold the advantage ahead of Saturday\u2019s derby with Manchester City, according to Dwight Yorke.
