{"id":246195,"date":"2016-09-06T16:45:26","date_gmt":"2016-09-06T16:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=246195"},"modified":"2016-09-06T16:45:26","modified_gmt":"2016-09-06T16:45:26","slug":"ec-to-probe-hohoe-officials-over-extortion-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/ec-to-probe-hohoe-officials-over-extortion-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"EC to probe Hohoe officials over extortion claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Electoral Commission (EC), has said it will investigate reports that its Hohoe officials in the Volta Region are <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/09\/05\/hohoe-ec-allegedly-taking-ghc20-kickback-from-officers-allowances\/\">deducting GHc20<\/a><\/strong><\/span> \u00a0from allowances of officials who supervised the just ended exhibition exercise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News&#8217;<\/strong> correspondent, Gratham Macintosh reported that some\u00a0Hohoe EC officials were deducting 20 cedis from the over 400 people hired by the Electoral Commission for its exhibition exercise.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;yj1AGXd0BRd7290bBPJ7s3If0fo7Tbs4&#8243;]Exhibition officers were paid GHC600, while verification officers took home GHC550, however, their allowances are 20 cedis less because of the deductions.
