{"id":24426,"date":"2014-06-12T17:28:51","date_gmt":"2014-06-12T17:28:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=24426"},"modified":"2014-06-12T17:28:51","modified_gmt":"2014-06-12T17:28:51","slug":"ndc-to-elect-national-executives-in-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/06\/ndc-to-elect-national-executives-in-october\/","title":{"rendered":"NDC to elect national executives in October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to go to the\u00a0polls from the October 24\u00a0to 26, 2014 to elect their national executives to lead the party in the\u00a0 upcoming 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>This was made known when the party released a time table for its upcoming internal elections.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was reached after the hierarchy of the party engaged in a brief National Executive meeting at the party headquarters at Asylum Down on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The NDC members say they are hoping to elect competent individuals to enable the party retain power for a third consecutive time.<\/p>\n<p>At a press briefing right after the \u00a0National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting,\u00a0the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia gave a detailed breakdown of how the internal elections would be carried out.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Nketiah noted that &#8220;\u201cwe [NDC] have from now until 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0July to complete all the party\u2019s branch elections and\u00a0up to 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0August to do all the constituency elections&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to him &#8220;all regional conferences are expected to \u00a0be concluded by 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0October&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He later entreated the various branches not to \u201c wait for other branches to finish their elections, you can go\u00a0 and proceed with your constitutional elections\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other issues discussed during the NEC meeting included election strategies for the 2016 general election as \u00a0well as \u00a0internal disapproval over the President\u2019s recent ministerial appointments, especially at the regional level.<\/p>\n<p>By: Benjamin Epton Owusu\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to go to the\u00a0polls from the October 24\u00a0to 26, 2014 to elect their national executives to lead the party in the\u00a0 upcoming 2016 general elections.
