{"id":243453,"date":"2016-08-28T05:55:35","date_gmt":"2016-08-28T05:55:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=243453"},"modified":"2016-08-28T05:55:35","modified_gmt":"2016-08-28T05:55:35","slug":"imani-shouldve-seen-manifestos-before-analysing-promises-agyarko","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/imani-shouldve-seen-manifestos-before-analysing-promises-agyarko\/","title":{"rendered":"IMANI should&#8217;ve seen manifestos before analysing promises &#8211; Agyarko"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Ayawaso West Wogon, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, believes IMANI Ghana should have waited for the release of the various party manifestos before attempting to analyse the various promises ahead of the polls in December.<\/p>\n<p>The NPP MP argued that, IMANI would have been better placed to scrutinize promises if it had waited for details of what the political parties had to offer in their manifestos.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;LlYL2zbh6ZE8tIJf7y3TsBdneT2JHMUs&#8221;]\u201cI think that IMANI should have waited for when we have launched our manifesto and have outlined some of our policies and programmes then they would have been in a better position to speak about it,\u201d he said on <em><strong>The Big Issue<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>IMANI Ghana on Thursday released a report on promises made so far by political parties which it said only\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/25\/imani-shreds-npp-ndc-campaign-promises\/\">18 out of the 247<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0promises collectively made by the various parties were quantifiable.<\/p>\n<p>With the\u00a0NPP in particular, the report said that out of the <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/25\/one-out-of-npps-29-promises-quantifiable-imani\/\"><strong>29 promises<\/strong><\/a><\/span> made by the NPP, \u201conly one is quantifiable, 14, semi-quantifiable and 14 non-quantifiable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following the report, some of the political parties including the NPP\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/25\/our-promises-are-attainable-npp-replies-imani\/\">took on<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0IMANI Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Private sector will help 1 district, 1 factory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the NPP\u2019s most talked about promises was its flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo&#8217;s pledge that\u00a0his government would establish a factory in each of the 216 districts across the country, if he wins the elections.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_243469\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-243469\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/MG_3659.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-243469\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/MG_3659.jpg\" alt=\"Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-243469\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Mr. Agyarko took the opportunity to further defend his party leader\u2019s promise noting that, the private sector had not really been factored into the analysis.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Agyarko, \u201cWhen my flagbearer said this, he didn\u2019t say government. He said we will establish a situation where it will be possible. It can be government led. It can be private.
