{"id":242497,"date":"2016-08-24T09:54:46","date_gmt":"2016-08-24T09:54:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=242497"},"modified":"2016-08-24T09:54:46","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T09:54:46","slug":"2-dead-4-in-coma-after-car-crash-on-accra-cape-coast-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/2-dead-4-in-coma-after-car-crash-on-accra-cape-coast-road\/","title":{"rendered":"2 dead, 4 in coma after car crash on Accra-Cape Coast road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two persons have been confirmed dead and four others in a coma after a car crash early Wednesday morning on the Accra-Cape Coast road, the police has said.<\/p>\n<p>The car crash, which occurred this dawn at Awutu Bereku, also saw eight others injured when a tipper truck collided with an Accra-bound sprinter Mercedes Benz bus from Senya Bereku.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/2058a5ed-fff8-40ff-9c19-cb7187c7f6a3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-242503\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/2058a5ed-fff8-40ff-9c19-cb7187c7f6a3.jpg\" alt=\"2058a5ed-fff8-40ff-9c19-cb7187c7f6a3\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Awutu Bereku district Police Commander, ASP Samuel Amfo revealed to the media that, \u201cAround 4am we had information that there was a fatal accident on the road between Gomoa and Awutu Bereku so we rushed to the scene and we came, we saw that the accident was so serious that two people lost their lives on the spot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresently 10 are receiving treatment at the trauma hospital, Winneba, and four of them are also at the Kasoa polyclinic. Four among the victims at the trauma hospital now are in coma and the rest are responding to treatment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/af017731-cbd1-4734-b315-6f1e1290f91e.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-242502\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/af017731-cbd1-4734-b315-6f1e1290f91e.jpg\" alt=\"af017731-cbd1-4734-b315-6f1e1290f91e\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the police, the Benz bus drivers\u2019 mate revealed that \u201chis driver attempted to overtake vehicles ahead of him and in the process, collided with the tipper truck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ASP Amfo had some words of advise for passengers telling them to keep reckless drivers in check when in commute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have signed with drivers to send them to their detention.
