{"id":242423,"date":"2016-08-24T04:00:55","date_gmt":"2016-08-24T04:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=242423"},"modified":"2016-08-24T04:00:55","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T04:00:55","slug":"committee-on-jussag-service-of-conditions-assures-members-of-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/committee-on-jussag-service-of-conditions-assures-members-of-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"Committee on JUSSAG service of conditions assures members of progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A committee set up by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah under the office of the president has assured members of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSSAG) that it has completed its work on proposed conditions of service of the members.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the Finance Ministry copied to <strong>Citi Business News<\/strong> indicated that the Presidential Committee has handed over the report to the Presidency for further action.<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, the committee was set up to review proposals on the Conditions of Service for staff of the Judicial Service who are members of JUSSAG.<\/p>\n<p>It further assured that appropriate actions are being taken on the recommendations contained in the report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JUSSAG calls off strike<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It will be recalled that JUSSAG recently embarked on a 10- day strike to press home their demand for better service of work conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The strike action was however called off after the Presidential Committee was formed to address the grievances of the workers.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, the association explained that the decision to call off the strike was aimed at aiding the \u00a0government\u2019s presidential committee to begin deliberations.<\/p>\n<p>JUSSAG President Alex Nartey addressing the media said the National Executive Committee of JUSSAG had concluded on a framework with government and management in addressing their demands.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time of strike action<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The leadership of JUSSAG on May 19 declared an indefinite nationwide strike over delays in the implementation of the consolidated salaries and emoluments of their members.<\/p>\n<p>The National Labour Commission (NLC) subsequently filed a writ in court to compel members of JUSSAG to end what it described as \u201ca lawless\u201d strike but JUSAG called their bluff and continued with their strike.<\/p>\n<p>The strike , however lasted for 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Lawrence Segbefia\/citibusinessnews.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A committee set up by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah under the office of the president has assured members of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSSAG) that it has completed its work on proposed conditions of service of the members.
