The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential nominee, Nana Akufo-Addo has asked the Presbyterian church to support his fight against corruption in the country.<\/p>\n
Nana Addo believes\u00a0the church has a major role to play in ensuring that society ends all acts of corruption.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”WbDy3hC8xSl9ayuIVsFZaFin9EaGF2eN”]Speaking at the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Abetifi in the Eastern Region, Nana Addo said an NPP administration under his leadership would need the help of the church in its bid to sanitise government.<\/p>\n
He spoke of \u201ca holistic approach of dealing with the toxic issue of corruption\u201d as he appealed to the\u00a0Presbyterian church “to give crucial support to the next NPP government as it undertakes these crucial steps. Our very future depends on this.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will support all moves to give Parliament greater oversight capabilities over the activities of the executive. This will give true meaning to the principle of separation of powers and accountable governance,\u201d Nana Addo added.<\/p>\n
