{"id":241902,"date":"2016-08-22T16:04:26","date_gmt":"2016-08-22T16:04:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=241902"},"modified":"2016-08-22T16:04:26","modified_gmt":"2016-08-22T16:04:26","slug":"dismissed-officer-sues-gaf-for-refusing-to-reinstate-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/dismissed-officer-sues-gaf-for-refusing-to-reinstate-him\/","title":{"rendered":"Dismissed officer sues GAF for refusing to reinstate him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A dismissed trainee army officer of the Ghana Military Academy, has brought a contempt suit against the Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Army Staff and the Commandant of the Military Academy Training School for their refusal to heed to a court order to reinstate him.<\/p>\n<p>The officer, Emmanuel Akabagre, who is in court to fight for his reinstatement, was dismissed in 2015, for allegedly allowing a female trainee officer into his room after 10:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the court ruled that his dismissal was unlawful, and ordered that the officer be reinstated as part of the September 2016\/17 batch of officers to be commissioned.<\/p>\n<p>But three months down the line, the officer is yet to be reinstated. As a result,\u00a0Emmanuel Akabagre contends that the Army is in contempt of court.<\/p>\n<p>In his reliefs, he indicated that, the court delivered \u201ca clear judgement\u201d adding that \u201cthe order of my reinstatement back into the GMA is not ambiguous, for which I contend they know precisely what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He is thus asking that the \u201crespondents be made to show cause why they should not be punished for their willful disobedience to comply with the orders of this court to reinstate me failing which the court may decide to punish the respondents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Delali Adogla-Bessa\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A dismissed trainee army officer of the Ghana Military Academy, has brought a contempt suit against the Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Army Staff and the Commandant of the Military Academy Training School for their refusal to heed to a court order to reinstate him.
