That is why I beat the children, because of their immorality\u2026 For some of you, if it were your child, you would have beaten them more than I did,\u201d Bishop Obinim said, breaking his silence on the incident.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;BQXch6v3CfUn0E0JSWjejwpsafcvzGcV&#8221;]A video showing Obinim whipping a teenage boy, believed to be 16, and a\u00a0girl, 14, for the alleged fornication and subsequent abortion in front of his congregation, went viral on social media Thursday Morning.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0police have since said they will\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/18\/police-to-investigate-video-of-obinim-flogging-fornicators\/\">look into the matter<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0as it may constitute a breach of the rights of the teenagers.<\/p>\n<p>But the Bishop justified his actions quoting Proverbs 13 versus 24 saying, whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it were your child, would you sit there for them to spoil? The kids are by my side, should I throw them out for this or what? Do not speak about things you don\u2019t understand,\u201d he retorted to the criticism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat would majority of Ghanaians have done in this case?
