The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed its dissatisfaction with the District Security Committee (DISEC), of the Awutu Senya District Assembly\u2019s decision to ban political activities ahead of the celebration of a major festival in the area, the Akomase festival.<\/p>\n
In a statement signed by the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Sampson Abbey Armah, and copied to the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, the Assembly said the decision was taken to solely focus security on the festival during the period.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”qR9MHm6LfnoP5ygvyTdrqJZjs90yDXfv”]\u201cAt a meeting of the District Security Committee (DISEC) of the Assembly, the security at Senya Beraku and its environs was exhaustively discussed especially with reference to the upcoming Akomase Festival,” the statement said.<\/p>\n
But speaking on Eyewitness News<\/strong>, the Awutu Senya Constituency Chairman for the NPP, Mr. Steve Quaye, said the decision is unfair.<\/p>\n He wondered why DISEC took such a decision when activities that these political parties embark on do not pose any security threat to residents in the area.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t understand why DISEC is doing this to us because we are all from Senya, George Andah is from Senya. We don\u2019t understand why our constituency should suffer.
