the Court\u2019s decision<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n[contextly_sidebar id=”Pxiluduu7RcCVX8wYX3XKFjks3Mbcj4k”]Mr. Afoko had accused the NPP leadership, during his testimony, of not following due process\u00a0before suspending him.<\/p>\n
He was also challenging the capacity of one the members of the party’s\u00a0disciplinary committee, Gifty Kusi, who was part of the committee that recommended his suspension.<\/p>\n
Giving his ruling, Justice Anthony Yeboah, said the lawyers of Afoko failed to prove that the party erred in the procedures that were used in suspending him.<\/p>\n
The Judge thus ruled that the party acted fairly and lawfully in the decision to suspend him.<\/p>\n
Afoko considering\u00a0appeal<\/strong><\/p>\nA statement signed by the suspended NPP Chairman\u2019s Spokesperson, Nana Yaw Osei, indicated that Mr. Afoko\u2019s legal team was considering an appeal against the decision.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2026lawyers for Mr. Afoko will carefully study the judgment and launch an appeal against the decision at the appropriate time,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
It\u00a0further urged party members to remain calm following the ruling and refrain from\u00a0“any unnecessary arguments but work to make the party supreme but not of personalities.”<\/p>\n

The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Paul A. Afoko has accepted the decision of the High Court (Human Rights Division), Accra, but disagrees with same.<\/p>\n
Consequently, lawyers for Mr. Afoko will carefully study the judgment and launch an appeal against the decision at the appropriate time.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, he is calm and urges all party members to also remain calm and not to engage in any unnecessary arguments but work to make the party supreme but not of personalities.<\/p>\n
It has always been emphasised that this legal battle is not about personalities but about the restoration of our party to its core values of respect for one another’s opinion, the rule of law and the need to remain united in face of all challenges.<\/p>\n
