{"id":23879,"date":"2014-06-10T14:20:12","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T14:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=23879"},"modified":"2014-06-10T14:20:12","modified_gmt":"2014-06-10T14:20:12","slug":"konadu-rawlings-imposter-grabbed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/06\/konadu-rawlings-imposter-grabbed\/","title":{"rendered":"Konadu Rawlings imposter grabbed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A third-year student of the Takoradi Polytechnic is fac\u00ading the full rigours of the law for allegedly using the name of former First Lady Konadu Rawlings to perpetuate fraud.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect, Collins Kofitse, 26, and others now at large are said to have cre\u00adated a Facebook account under the name \u201cKonadu Rawlings\u201d to commit the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the press in Accra last Monday, Director- General of the Criminal In\u00advestigation Department (CID), Commissioner of Police&#8217; (COP) Prosper Cwame Agblor. stated that he suspect used an organi- :ation called Empowerment if Masses (OFEM), which hey claimed Konadu Rawl\u00adings was a co-founder.<\/p>\n<p>He said they also falsely .represented on this Face- book page that OFEM was providing foreign university scholarships to students in UK, Dubai, Germany and Australia, and they de\u00admanded and obtained vari\u00adous forms of money from interested applicants.<\/p>\n<p>COP Agblor further said that preliminary investiga\u00adtion revealed that their physical address was in Kara, Republic of Togo and some of their landlines were also registered in Togo.<\/p>\n<p>He said a Ghanaian ap\u00adplicant resident in the United Arab Emirates be\u00adcame suspicious when he saw the advertisement and he therefore lured Kofitse to Accra, where he was ar\u00adrested.<\/p>\n<p>He said investigations were searching for other members of the gang.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: The Finder<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A third-year student of the Takoradi Polytechnic is fac\u00ading the full rigours of the law for allegedly using the name of former First Lady Konadu Rawlings to perpetuate fraud.
