{"id":233731,"date":"2016-07-24T09:17:51","date_gmt":"2016-07-24T09:17:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=233731"},"modified":"2016-07-24T09:17:51","modified_gmt":"2016-07-24T09:17:51","slug":"check-out-the-ghanaian-bride-who-wore-sneakers-on-her-wedding-day-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/07\/check-out-the-ghanaian-bride-who-wore-sneakers-on-her-wedding-day-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Check out the Ghanaian bride who wore sneakers on her wedding day [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most people will find it strange or maybe outrageous to turn up for a wedding only to find the bride wearing actual shoes or sneakers instead of the usual heels for weddings.<\/p>\n<p>Well, it happened in the beautiful nation of Ghana with the bride and her hubby receiving so many questions, applauds, and even insults for the choice.<\/p>\n<p>The bride, Vera Ewura Obeng a professional photographer from Ghana, did not go for heels for the big day and rather opted for custom-made desert boots from Horseman Shoes.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, after being a wedding photographer for 6 years and seeing the pain most of these women suffer just to look glam, she wasn\u2019t about to go through the same fate hence her drastic decision.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on facebook which has received more than 2,000 likes and close to 500 shares plus several\u00a0comments, the beautiful Cinderella bride explained her choice and did a little clap back at all those who were mocking her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter being a wedding photographer(VeraObengphotography) for 6 years its only fair that I learn not to repeat what Brides go through over and over again.<\/p>\n<p>For me, What is the point in wearing heels to church and remove it during reception? I just don\u2019t get it. If you want heels wear it throughout the event. I wore mine for 9 hours. I see Brides complaining about the heels all the time. It even doesn\u2019t make my photos nice. My \u201ccomboo\u201d as some are calling it is actually custom made \u201cHORSEMAN HOOVES&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We all copy and paste including me. Our problem is we do it without reading through what we have copied\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For those saying I am manifest? sister, \u201ceeeiiii ghanafo kasa\u201d I\u2019ve only seen him once. It was from a distance in a hotel I went to work in. It would be nice to have him as a big brother though. Never heard any of his songs except the recent one to sarkodie?. And I can say I don\u2019t understand a thing. Call me \u201ckolo\u201d. \u201d I like it like that\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Again for those suggesting my husband should have been in something similar, thanks a lot for your suggestion. The idea was not to \u201ccombine powers like captain planet&#8221;. He is an academician and I am an artist. We can only adjust but not to change who we are. He loves me and I do love him also. No need to change. \u201clove you Festus Attah Isoah Iso.<\/p>\n<p>And for my dress, I just don\u2019t get the bit where I spend thousands of Mahama cedis on a dress I can\u2019t wear again.. \u201cI just can\u2019t think far\u201d. Invite me to your baby christening and I will gladly come in it.<\/p>\n<p>For me this was my dream wedding, if you choose to wear a heel as tall as me, at the end of the day, its all about our choices.<\/p>\n<p>Note that I don\u2019t have anything against wearing of heels and gowns.
