The incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) has finally elected Anthony Bueteem Gingong, a senior officer of the\u00a0National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), as its 2016 Parliamentary candidate for the Bunkprugu Constituency.<\/p>\n
He emerged victorious with 2,542 votes at the end of a parliamentary primary involving five contestants.<\/p>\n
The others were Dr. Benson Boinkum Konlan, who polled 2,271, Jagong Tahidu 1,066, Azumah Konlan 196, with Duut Abdulai securing 570 votes.<\/p>\n

Anthony Bueteem Gingong will lock horns with the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament Hon. Solomon Boa at the 2016 polls.<\/p>\n
The NDC\u2019s Northern Regional Director of Elections, Tanko Rashid, alias computer, described the primary as generally peaceful.<\/p>\n
With barely five months to the general elections, Tanko Rashid urged all party members to rally behind the candidate.<\/p>\n
He stressed the need for the party to remain united and focus on wrestling the seat from the NPP at the December 7 polls.<\/p>\n
Tanko Rashid also pleaded with all party members to go and confirm their names in the electoral roll as the exhibition exercise draws to a close.
