The immediate past National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary nominee for the Akyem Abuakwa North constituency in the Eastern Region, Anthony Osei Gyimah, has blamed the leadership of the NDC for his resignation as the party’s\u00a0parliamentary nominee.<\/p>\n
He claims the party leadership\u2019s failure to address\u00a0divisions within the party in the constituency forced his resignation.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”bdZLy4muYDx6m7xj80pAvblnkBtOk3gr”]Mr. Gyimah resigned as parliamentary nominee for the NDC in the Akyem Abwakwa North Constituency last Monday, fueling claims he stepped down to allow Ghana\u2019s High Commissioner to the UK, Victor Smith, to take over the position.<\/p>\n
But, Mr. Gyimah in an interview with\u00a0Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0claimed that the party leadership\u2019s failure to address petitions about \u00a0divisions in the constituency forced him to resign.<\/p>\n \u201cIt all stems from the fact that after the declaration of the primary results, last year in November, I started getting some negative sentiments whereby they were creating some divisions in the constituency within the NDC,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n \u201cAs much as I tried to bring the party together, the divisions were getting deeper and deeper.
