An Accra Fast Track High Court will on Friday rule on a suit brought before it by New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth activist; Richard Nyamah asking the Finance Ministry to pay all debts owed the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund) since 2013.

Richard Nyamah filed an Ex-parte motion praying the Court to compel the Finance Ministry to defray its accumulated debt.

He says, since 2013 the Ministry has failed to pay the compulsory percentage of VAT returns into the GETFund accounts as required by law.

This, he claims has halted the GETFund’s expansion of infrastructural development and sponsoring of Ghanaian students pursuing further studies abroad.

The Attorney General’s Department had earlier questioned the locus of Mr. Nyamah in the matter arguing that his motion be thrown out.
