The office of the Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, has taken delivery of two four-wheel drives (4×4) from Kantanka Automobile Company Limited.<\/p>\n
According to the Vice President, the decision to purchase the cars was an easy one, given the advantages from owning a wholly locally-made cars, including its affordability.<\/p>\n

They compete favorably with the imported ones. They are also cheaper and there\u2019s local availability of parts and expertise to fix them if there are any problems,\u201d Amissah-Arthur said at a ceremony to hand over the vehicles at the Kantanka Automobile manufacturing plant site\u00a0in the Central Region.<\/p>\n
Amissah-Arthur stated that, the acquisition of the cars demonstrated the Mahama administration\u2019s continued commitment to \u00a0promoting local entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is consistent with this government to support domestic enterprise so it was on that basis that we decided to acquire a few of them for the use of my office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kantanka Automobile Company Ltd, Kwadwo Safo, expressed his gratitude to the vice president.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n Nana Addo vows to use Kantanka cars<\/strong><\/p>\n The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, promised to\u00a0purchase<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Kantanka cars for the party\u2019s campaign ahead of the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n In a Facebook post back in December 2015, Nana Addo said \u201cEarlier today, I test drove a Kantanka Omama pickup and promised to purchase a few for the upcoming campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI assured the management and staff of Kantanka Automibile Ltd, and by extension all local manufacturing companies that if I win the 2016 election and become President, my government will support local, Ghanaian manufacturing companies.\u201d<\/p>\n
