{"id":229653,"date":"2016-07-10T12:48:13","date_gmt":"2016-07-10T12:48:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=229653"},"modified":"2016-07-10T12:48:13","modified_gmt":"2016-07-10T12:48:13","slug":"govt-will-complete-knust-teaching-hospital-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/07\/govt-will-complete-knust-teaching-hospital-mahama\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov&#8217;t will complete KNUST teaching hospital &#8211; Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Mahama has assured that the government will step in to complete the construction of a teaching hospital\u00a0for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama stated that he would immediately begin a search for funds to finish the project which was started by the Kumasi-based University, following an appeal to him by the Chancellor of the school, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am reliably informed that KNUST has started the construction of its teaching hospital to promote greater access to medical education. This is very commendable. I believe that his royal majesty, the Chancellor\u2019s request is in order and let me add that not many people can refuse a request from the Otumfuo,\u201d President Mahama said at the 50<sup>th<\/sup> Congregation of the University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll therefore set to work immediately to seek the funding to continue and complete the teaching hospital you have started as a reward for your 50<sup>th<\/sup> congregation<strong>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Mahama also called on the graduates to transfer the knowledge they had acquired at the University into ideas for the development of the societies in which they live.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Mahama-Tech3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-229597\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Mahama-Tech3.jpg\" alt=\"Mahama Tech3\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to him, the quality of the University can only be determined by the level of impact made by its students on the people around them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Mahama.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-229612\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Mahama.jpg\" alt=\"Mahama\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mark of a good university is not about the great performance on campuses, but its ability to transform people and institutions outside for meaningful development,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Edwin Kwakofi\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Mahama has assured that the government will step in to complete the construction of a teaching hospital\u00a0for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the Ashanti Region.
