The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who now doubles as the Campaign Coordinator for President John Mahama’s Campaign Team for the November polls, has said the 15-member team is solid enough to work towards retaining the President.

[contextly_sidebar id=”JNFiI6nc8VkSNMaF4UgpYz614tc0LRbf”]“The team is very solid. Everybody in this country understands that the best person for job is President John Dramani Mahama. President Mahama is the best and he remains so,“Mr. Adams said.

President John Dramani Mahama, on Tuesday unveiled a 15-member campaign team, led by General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia as chairman.

The decision was taken in consultation with the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party at a NEC meeting on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.

However some persons who lead the President’s 2012 campaign such as Hanna Tetteh, Elvis Ankrah and Dr. Omane Boamah, were missing in the list.

Mahama didn’t abandon anyone

Speaking on Eyewitness News, on Wednesday, Mr. Kofi Adams dismissed assertions that the President had abandoned the likes of Omane Boamah, Hanna Tetteh, Mr. Afriyie Ankrah.

He explained that the party decided to replace some supporting staff of the team with new members because they were now playing other roles.

He further explained that every member of the party is effectively a member of the campaign to retain the President.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs is the chief diplomat of the President and a candidate contesting an election. The other is the Chief Spokesperson who is also the linguist to the President as far as issues of governance are concerned, so these persons have not been abandoned. They have their roles they have to play.”

“The President has not, will not and has never thought of abandoning anybody. Everybody is included in this campaign…No one has been abandoned and everyone is going to play a role.”
