The Valley View University is processing eleven programmes for accreditation in addition to its 28 programmes to offer more opportunities in developing Ghana\u2019s human resource.<\/p>\n
Professor Daniel Bediako, the Vice Chancellor of the University, announced this at the 22nd Congregation ceremony of the Adventist institution, at its main campus at Oyibi, in the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”UY4TVLrCuQUpidpzL2RkCvdRpLxAFImk”]They programmes include a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health Nursing; Bachelor of Science -Procurement and Supply Chain Management; Bachelor of Science- Environmental and Waste Management.<\/p>\n
Others are a Master\u2019s programme in Business Administration in Accounting, and Master\u2019s Programme in Education Leadership and Administration.<\/p>\n
A total of 2,391 graduands, comprising 190 post graduate students and 2,201 undergraduates were awarded with degrees and diplomas.<\/p>\n
The graduands, from 11 African countries, included more than 67 per cent males.<\/p>\n
Prof Bediako said the institution offered value-based Christian education that fostered the balanced development of all students.<\/p>\n
He said each student by the end of his or her training process would have benefitted socially, intellectually, physically and spiritually.<\/p>\n
The university, Prof Bediako said operated on three campuses – Oyibi, Techiman and Kumasi – with a total enrollment of 9614 students. Sandwiched students constitute 50 per cent enrolment.<\/p>\n
He said over the year under review, the various Departments and Institutions all achieved various successes in their efforts.<\/p>\n
In the Chaplaincy Department, Prof Bediako said, their outreach services had resulted in the baptism of 568 souls and this was a 38 percent increase over the previous year\u2019s figure of 411 souls.<\/p>\n
Mr. Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, who was the special Guest of Honour, advised the graduates to lead responsible lives wherever they found themselves.<\/p>\n
He said graduation ceremonies often \u201cmarks the end of a long journey but it is the beginning of another journey \u2013 \u201clife\u2019s journey\u201d – and urged the students to acquaint themselves creditably in all their endeavours.<\/p>\n
Nii Afotey Agbo urged lecturers and the academic authorities to continue to work hard for their students to improve their lot to ensure their total development.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe one who graduates and stops learning will soon find himself behind on the path to success,\u201d he said. \u201cDon\u2019t forget your alma mater in all your successes\u201d.<\/p>\n
