A former National Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Professor Edmund Delle has stated that the challenges facing nation can be blamed on the high level of inexperience of some of the people working in the current government.

Prof. Delle is of the opinion that President John Mahama’s appointment of Ministers of State leaves much to be desired.

The President has recently reshuffled some Ministers and Deputy Ministers and has brought in some experienced hands and professionals to shore up efforts to turn the country’s economy around.

Speaking on the Point Blank segment on Eyewitness News, the former CPP Chair said the President should seek advice from experienced politicians.

He acknowledged that running a government is “very difficult and managing people is even more difficult” and so it is imperative for the President to surround himself with competent people to help him govern.

Prof Delle advised President Mahama to his appointment by making sure that “the elderly people are there and then the young ones are there.”

According to him, his years on earth and being in politics he can conveniently reiterate that “experience is the best teacher.”

He made reference to the President of the United States of America, President Obama saying, “he is young but look at his advisors. In the long run, you will need both.”

“Mahama should gather the elders around and I think we shall overcome,” he counseled.
