{"id":227890,"date":"2016-07-04T13:22:36","date_gmt":"2016-07-04T13:22:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=227890"},"modified":"2016-07-04T13:22:36","modified_gmt":"2016-07-04T13:22:36","slug":"13-burnt-to-death-in-accident-on-wenchi-wa-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/07\/13-burnt-to-death-in-accident-on-wenchi-wa-road\/","title":{"rendered":"13 burnt to death in accident on Wenchi-Wa road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thirteen people have been confirmed dead in an accident on Monday\u00a0morning at Subinso-Branam on the Wenchi-Wa road in the Brong Ahafo Region.<\/p>\n<p>Reports indicate that a Kumasi-bound Ford collided head-on with an O&amp;A bus en-route to Wa around 2:00am.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-227892\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/d928d31d-fc6b-478a-ac64-5e0132fc9020.jpg\" alt=\"d928d31d-fc6b-478a-ac64-5e0132fc9020\" width=\"600\" height=\"420\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Several others who suffered severe injuries were transported to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital for medical care.<\/p>\n<p>The Municipal Chief Executive of Wenchi, Alhaji Habib Dauda, who confirmed the details of the accident to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, noted that the Ford bus caught fire after the collision and all the passengers in the bus died in the fire.<\/p>\n<p>Pictures made available to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0showed\u00a0the bodies burnt beyond recognition.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-227900\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/26a7e192-7b64-45ad-bc01-bcc8e4c87d57.jpg\" alt=\"26a7e192-7b64-45ad-bc01-bcc8e4c87d57\" width=\"600\" height=\"376\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have invited a pathologist and he has come to inspect [the bodies] and he has given us the go ahead to bury them immediately,\u201d Alhaji Dauda stated adding that plans were in place to bury the bodies.<\/p>\n<p>He however failed to explain whether or not the bodies had been identified.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_227901\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-227901\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-227901 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/8d339807-0560-460e-9198-3cd01549ce22-1024x713.jpg\" alt=\"8d339807-0560-460e-9198-3cd01549ce22\" width=\"620\" height=\"432\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-227901\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mass grave being dug for the dead<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to him, \u201cthe Police are here, the Fire Service is also here. Everybody who also matters is also here and Nananom are also here.
