{"id":22744,"date":"2014-06-04T20:07:42","date_gmt":"2014-06-04T20:07:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=22744"},"modified":"2014-06-04T20:08:01","modified_gmt":"2014-06-04T20:08:01","slug":"fcp-premier-league-medeama-targeting-future-improvement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/06\/fcp-premier-league-medeama-targeting-future-improvement\/","title":{"rendered":"FCP Premier League: Medeama targeting future improvement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Medeama Sporting Club has expressed its wish to see better fortunes in next season&#8217;s First Capital Plus Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>The Yellow and Mauves finished 9th on the log with 40 points after drawing their last match of the season with Hasaacas 2-2 but they believe things could have been far better for them especially as they strengthened the team in the transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I do not think this is the position we deserve at the end of the season. Things have not gone according to the plan we had but we must improve and see what we can do next season. There are no doubts about that but this season has been our poorest ever since we joined the league.<\/p>\n<p>We brought in a lot of players and we expected more but that is what football gives you&#8221;, said Tony Nkrumah-Boateng, the club&#8217;s Senior Public Relations Officer in an interview with Citi Sports on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The team had four outstanding matches due to their participation in the CAF Confederations Cup but they failed to take full advantage as they won one of those matches.<\/p>\n<p>The shaky displays came to the fore again in their match against Hassacas as the team had to come back from two goals down after Samuel Afful&#8217;s brace had put Hasaacas ahead at the Tarkwa T&amp;A Park.<\/p>\n<p>For Nkrumah-Boateng, getting a point was a better way of ending the season than a with a loss since it helped to maintain their Premier League status.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a point we needed to get today because it would have been unpleasant for us to lose on the last day.
