First oil from Ghana’s second biggest oil field the Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntome (TEN) field is expected to be delivered within the next three to six weeks.<\/p>\n
This is according to the lead operator of the field Tullow oil.<\/p>\n
The TEN project is expected to augment the oil production on the Jubilee field which is currently around 85,000 barrels a day.<\/p>\n
Tullow says the TEN Project which is on schedule and within budget is now over 96% complete.<\/p>\n
Production output to start at 23,000<\/strong><\/p>\n Tullow estimates that TEN’s average annualized production in 2016 will be around 23,000 baarrels of oil per day gross.<\/p>\n A gradual ramp-up in oil production towards the FPSO capacity of 80,000 barrels of oil per day is anticipated around the end of 2016 as the facilities complete performance testing and wells are brought up to optimum rates.<\/p>\n However drilling is not expected to recommence on the TEN field until after the resolution of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire and Ghana border dispute through the ITLOS tribunal whose decision is expected in late 2017.<\/p>\n Commenting on the development , chief executive officer of Tullow, Aidan Heavey, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cAfter three years of hard work, i am delighted to say that the ten project is expected to deliver first oil within the next three to six weeks. <\/em><\/p>\n this transformational project has remained on schedule and on budget since it began in 2013′. <\/em><\/p>\n Citi Business News has gathered hook-up and commissioning of the FPSO, connecting the pre-drilled wells to the vessel via the extensive subsea infrastructure, is nearing completion.<\/p>\n During July, the integrated start-up sequence is expected to be initiated with water injection to the Enyenra reservoir being followed by oil production.<\/p>\n This sequence will then be repeated for the Ntomme reservoir.<\/p>\n TEN gas production <\/strong><\/p>\n The associated gas produced at TEN will be re-injected into the Ntomme reservoir gas cap until gas export begins.<\/p>\n Gas export was planned to start 12 months after field start-up, with the Tweneboa gas reservoir coming on stream a further 12 months later.<\/p>\n However, options to accelerate gas export are currently being evaluated as the fabrication of the gas export facilities is ahead of schedule and is expected to be complete in late 2016, some six months early.
