{"id":225610,"date":"2016-06-27T06:00:05","date_gmt":"2016-06-27T06:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=225610"},"modified":"2016-06-27T06:00:05","modified_gmt":"2016-06-27T06:00:05","slug":"ngo-launches-school-in-adaklu-hehekpoe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/06\/ngo-launches-school-in-adaklu-hehekpoe\/","title":{"rendered":"NGO launches school in Adaklu Hehekpoe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ADANU, a Non-Governmental organization committed to enhancing teaching and learning in Ghana has launched an ultramodern educational school in Adaklu Hehekpoe to provide holistic early childhood education to pupils through interactive teaching methods.<\/p>\n<p>The project, christened HAPPI &#8211; an acronym for Hehekpoe Adanu Pilot Project Initiative, comes with a classroom block for cr\u00e8che, a library and sanitary facilities (WASH program).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-225612\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/adanu.jpg\" alt=\"adanu\" width=\"460\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> during the commissioning of the buildings, the Director for Community Coordination Robert Tornu said the model, which is the first of its kind seeks to create an environment where pupils and teachers, in understanding a concept, interact directly with learning materials and also instill good moral values in the pupils.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-225613\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/adanu1.jpg\" alt=\"adanu1\" width=\"460\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHAPPI starts with building more advanced classrooms and school grounds; creating a deeply collaborative PTA; enhancing current government curriculum; coaching teachers to engage students in unique ways; creating a class base garden where each class grow a specific vegetables; creating a community feeding program for students; building a library and computer lab and focusing on children&#8217;s emotional intelligence\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-225615\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/adanu3.jpg\" alt=\"adanu3\" width=\"460\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The project funded by the Morse family, the Mosaic Company, and Friends of ADANU according to him would be extended to other parts of the country to produce more productive and useful students for the nation.<\/p>\n<p>The District Chief Executive of Adaklu Mr Sky Ganaku promised to assist graduates from the school who, due to financial challenges, cannot continue their education after BECE.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-225616\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/adanu4.jpg\" alt=\"adanu4\" width=\"460\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On her part, the District Director of Education, Madam Cynthia Gbadago, commended the organization for the project, adding that it would go a long way to improve academic performance in schools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: King Norbert Akpablie\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ADANU, a Non-Governmental organization committed to enhancing teaching and learning in Ghana has launched an ultramodern educational school in Adaklu Hehekpoe to provide holistic early childhood education to pupils through interactive teaching methods.
