{"id":224821,"date":"2016-06-23T11:42:20","date_gmt":"2016-06-23T11:42:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=224821"},"modified":"2016-06-23T11:42:20","modified_gmt":"2016-06-23T11:42:20","slug":"nike-withdraw-wimbledon-dresses-after-complaints-they-are-too-revealing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/06\/nike-withdraw-wimbledon-dresses-after-complaints-they-are-too-revealing\/","title":{"rendered":"Nike withdraw Wimbledon dresses after complaints they are too &#8216;revealing&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sportswear giant Nike are recalling the tennis dresses which are due to be used by female players at Wimbledon &#8211; over fears they are too skimpy.<\/p>\n<p>Complaints were raised about the amount of flesh shown by the design of this year&#8217;s costumes.<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturers have asked for all of their representatives &#8211; believed to be about 20 in the main women&#8217;s competition &#8211; to send back their outfits for alterations.<\/p>\n<p>Players were reportedly claiming that the &#8216;Nike Premier Slam&#8217; dress, which is worth \u00a375, rises above the waistline and becomes uncomfortable during play.<\/p>\n<p>An email sent to players was seen by the <em>Daily Mail <\/em>and apparently read: &#8220;We need to make a small change to your dresses per Wimbledon rules. Could you please bring them by the Nike Wimbledon House.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"inline-image clearfix \">\n<div class=\"image-credit-wrapper\"><span class=\"image-credit\">Getty<\/span><img
