The fate of students of second cycle institutions in the Northern Region, still\u00a0hangs in the balance,\u00a0because it is unclear when they will return to the classroom, after serving the compulsory one week mid-term holidays.<\/p>\n
Their absence in school according to education authorities, created space for the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination, (BECE).<\/p>\n
But Citi News<\/strong> earlier established that government\u2019s failure to reimburse the outstanding feeding grants for three terms, compelled heads of second cycle institutions in the Northern Region, to send the students home till further notice.<\/p>\n The BECE is over and yet the students are idling home waiting for their school authorities\u2019 radio announcement.<\/p>\n A student of Vitting Senior High School, Saani Faiza lamented that, \u201cWe are home because there is no food and that we should stay at home until we hear radio or television announcement.\u201d<\/p>\n Mumuni Najima of Kalpohin Senior High said, \u201cThey gave us BECE mid-terms and before they gave us the mid-terms, our assistant headmaster of academics told us that they don\u2019t know when we will return to school because there is no food for us.\u201d<\/p>\n “As we are sitting in the house, we don\u2019t have the habit of learning, but if you are in the school you will learn.
