President John Mahama is scheduled to host an evening with some businesses with the Small and Medium Enterprise sector of the economy on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.<\/p>\n
The event under the auspices of the office of the President in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), is designed to among other things; inspire the next generation of Ghana Club 100 companies as well as allow SME’s hear first hand from the President, measures that the government is taking to sustain an enabling environment for businesses.<\/p>\n
It will also encourage increased dialogue between the President and the Ghanaian business community.<\/p>\n
Various SME businesses from across the country who have supported economic growth in their respective regions, will be participating in the event.<\/p>\n
According to the GIPC, the importance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) within the economy cannot be overruled.<\/p>\n
The SMEs are also said to be the backbone of many emerging markets with an influence that can make or break the economies within which they exist.<\/p>\n
In Ghana, SME’s over the years have contributed greatly to the development of the economy\u00a0as they contribute to a greater share of employment creation, provide basic goods and services, enhance economic diversity, exports and social stability.<\/p>\n
The SME sector is also a primary driver of GDP for the country and serves as a feeder line for corporations of the future.<\/p>\n
The event which will be strictly by invitation, will take place at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast, Accra at 6pm.<\/p>\n
The theme for the evening interaction is, \u201cSME’s: The Key to Ghana’s Economic Growth and Transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n
