The newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary nominee for the Shai Osudoku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Linda Ocloo has said she is determined to transform the constituency if she gets the nod in the November polls.<\/p>\n
According to her, she will ensure that development projects are executed in the area.<\/p>\n
Linda Ocloo, who is wife of the late NDC Parliamentary nominee for the Shai Osudoku constituency, Desmond Ocloo, beat the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Dr Kpessa Whyte to win the primary held last Saturday.<\/p>\n
She polled 5,156 votes<\/strong><\/a><\/span> while her main contender Dr. Kpessa Whyte managed with 3,372 votes.<\/p>\n In an interview with Citi News<\/strong>, Linda Ocloo, said she will not be disadvantaged despite her political inexperience.<\/p>\n \u201cShai Osuduku people wanted change and that is exactly what I\u2019m going to give them. The people in the area especially the youth are unemployed, our roads are bad, and there are towns that there are no lights and places without access to potable water. These are some of the things we have to tackle, with God being on our side we will work effectively and that change will definitely come.\u201d<\/p>\n She explained that \u201cpolitics is different from any other job. It\u2019s something you have to learn and trust me, I\u2019m not finding anything difficult with it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe only way you have to do is to negotiate with people to help and I believe I\u2019m well positioned to do that so I\u2019m not going to encounter any problem at all. Though I haven\u2019t been a politician before, it is not something that is going to be difficult for me.\u201d<\/p>\n The NDC’s Shai Osudoku Constituency parliamentary nominee, Desmond William Ocloo died in March in a car crash.<\/p>\n His wife, Linda Ocloo however decided to contest the primary in honour of her late husband.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
