{"id":222796,"date":"2016-06-16T07:12:34","date_gmt":"2016-06-16T07:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=222796"},"modified":"2016-06-16T07:12:34","modified_gmt":"2016-06-16T07:12:34","slug":"tema-motorists-threaten-demo-over-deplorable-roads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/06\/tema-motorists-threaten-demo-over-deplorable-roads\/","title":{"rendered":"Tema motorists threaten demo over deplorable roads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some motorists in Tema are planning a demonstration over the poor state of their roads in the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>The drivers who ply the Ashaiman-Lashibi-Klagon through to Nungua roads say several attempts to get authorities to fix the deplorable roads have proved futile.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-222803\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/road.jpg\" alt=\"road\" width=\"533\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Tema Correspondent Elvis Washington reported that \u201cthe roads which are yet to receive asphalt overlays always deteriorate during the rainy season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-222804\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/roads.jpg\" alt=\"roads\" width=\"533\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Tema some roads within communities 11, 4, 6 and 5 , 2, 9 have deteriorated as drivers have to dodge potholes or risk falling into them,\u201d Elvis added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drivers blame TMA for poor road maintenance <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some of these drivers have blamed the Tema Metropolitan Assembly for poor road maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>A driver who spoke to<strong> Citi News<\/strong> said \u201cthe potholes are like a pit and cars get stuck on the road everyday.
