\nIt\u2019s that time of the year
\nWhen we see the ballistic effect of rain
\nAs roiled waters rise
\nHope recedes
\nBut
\nWe hear the chirping and the kwashiorkor chatter
\nOf bureaucrats and apparatchiks, who promise all is well
\nEven as the waters swell<\/p>\n
And who feed us grammar
\nIn the midst of the horrendous dilemma.<\/p>\n
Sorry for the pyrotechnics,
\nThe blast, the dead and the loss
\nOf the year past,
\nThey say,
\nAnd they say:
\nWe\u2019ve not lost the plot,
\nMillennium City Accra goes Venice
\nThis is the Circle marine port
\nJust await the commissioning,
\nDomestic and international transit,

Just as Seke-l the money-dwarf bogged down BOG
\nStaged a heist
\nAnd screwed the economy.<\/p>\n
Maybe I like this version.
