The President of the Ghana Bar Association Mr. Benson Nutsukpui has urged investors to adhere to the legal procedures of acquiring lands for their prospective business endeavors in the country.<\/p>\n
According to him, going through the laid down procedures in acquiring lands in Ghana as investors will help safeguard them from future litigation which will impede their business activities.<\/p>\n
Mr. Nutsukpui made this call when he interacted with members of the Italian Business Association of Ghana (IBAG) in Accra.<\/p>\n
The open forum deliberations was part of a \u00a0programmes line up slated for IBAG’s general meeting which was aimed at briefing members of past and upcoming events of the association.<\/p>\n
Mr. Nutsukpui stated that the issue of land title registration is a major problem in Ghana due to the nonexistence of \u00a0properly structured measures to enable people to easily acquire land titles.<\/p>\n
The Ghana Bar Association President expressed worry over \u00a0government\u2019s failure to put in place measures to curb the prevailing difficulty in securing land titles which most foreigners face in their bid to acquire lands for business ventures.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese problems of \u00a0non- availability of insurance for victims who acquire lands but latter end up in litigation, bureaucracy in the process of land registration process is\u00a0 hampering business growth,\u201d he said.
\nMr. Nutsukpui further advised all investors to make\u00a0 enquiries at both the Lands Registry and Lands Commission to ascertain whether\u00a0 a desired land is registered or not.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will encourage all investors to take the pain of embarking on a visit to the site for investigation by questioning the neighbours to authenticate the rightful owner of the land before effecting payments,\u201d he advised<\/p>\n
\u201cNever pay money to one part of the family it should be made up of the principal family members and family head,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
On his part, the Vice President of the Italian Business Association of Ghana Nii Amaa Ollennu implored \u00a0his members to acquire lands from the rightful source to avert paying to imposters.<\/p>\n
He urged that IBAG will continue to support businesses which are directed at creating opportunities for the youth of Ghana to be gainfully employed as well as honour their responsibilities of paying taxes to the government.<\/p>\n
