{"id":221447,"date":"2016-06-10T16:15:03","date_gmt":"2016-06-10T16:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=221447"},"modified":"2016-06-10T16:15:03","modified_gmt":"2016-06-10T16:15:03","slug":"7-arrested-in-aregion-clampdown-on-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/06\/7-arrested-in-aregion-clampdown-on-robbery\/","title":{"rendered":"7 arrested in A\/Region clampdown on robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested seven persons suspected to be behind the recent robbery cases in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the media today [Friday], the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Ampofo Duku said the robbers were arrested in hideouts in Kwadaso and Kronum, all suburbs of Kumasi in the regional capital, Kumasi.<\/p>\n<p>The police also believe the suspects are connected to the killing of an employee of the Kwamanman Rural Bank.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-221448\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/407109cd-6599-4703-949f-96fd2450d4b8.jpg\" alt=\"407109cd-6599-4703-949f-96fd2450d4b8\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Four of the arrested suspects have been identified as Adu Gyamfi, Roland Esirfi, Kofi Agyeman and Adu Sarfo.<\/p>\n<p>ACP Duku stated that, when Roland Esirifi was arrested following a tip-off, a search of his room revealed military grade body armor, a set of military uniforms, a pair of military boots, German military attire, one locally manufactured pistol, two phones, two knives, black vests and a cash amount of\u00a0Ghc400.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-221450\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/c8e47b86-5b8c-46f2-89be-9b5c531576ae.jpg\" alt=\"c8e47b86-5b8c-46f2-89be-9b5c531576ae\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Esirifi also some\u00a0information that led to the arrest of Adu Gyamfi according to ACP Duku, because the suspect was in possession of a phone that had a picture of a foreign pistol on it.<\/p>\n<p>The police eventually ascertained that\u00a0the picture belonged to Gyamfi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe [Esirifi] led police to Adu Gyamfi\u2019s house and a search conducted in his room also revealed one Samsung mobile phone, one iPhone, an axe and a long cutlass,\u201d ACP Duku stated.<\/p>\n<p>Further investigations of the two, led to the arrest of the other identified suspects; Kofi Agyeman and Adu Sarfo at Kwadaso.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Police Commander indicated that, \u201cInvestigations are ongoing to link them to some of the robberies suspected to have been undertaken by them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Photo credit: Hawa Iddrisu<\/p>\n<p>By: Delali Adogla-Bessa\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested seven persons suspected to be behind the recent robbery cases in the region.
