I think it is a collective failure on our part as a country. These things should be solved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221166 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/thumb__MG_0335_1024.jpg\" alt=\"Accra Floods Odawna\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should all collectively blame ourselves for these problems because we haven\u2019t prioritized some of the basic needs that have to be taken care of if we are to make progress as a country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bawumia made the comments\u00a0on the<strong> Citi Breakfast Show <\/strong>on Friday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flooding in Accra<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Accra experienced a heavy downpour yesterday [Thursday] resulting in flooding which made some areas inaccessible.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221174 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/thumb_MVI_0361_1024.jpg\" alt=\"Accra Floods Odawna\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rain, which started around 4:00am, continued till about 1:00pm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221176 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/thumb_MVI_0379_1024.jpg\" alt=\"Accra Floods Odawna\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a break at 1:00pm, it started again with severe storm around 5:00pm for about three hours.<\/p>\n<p>Places like the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Awoshie and Tema among others, were some of the worst affected areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 3 disaster<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A flood incident amidst fire at the Goil filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra on June 3, 2015 caused the death of over 150 Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Godwin A.
