The Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Sampson Ahi, has accused civil society groups in the country of bias, because in his view, they failed to condemn comments made by the New Patriotic Party Party’s (NPP) Campaign Manager, Peter Mac Manu, on the declaration of election results.

Mac Manu is reported to have said at a meeting with NPP faithful at Takoradi Polytechnic that, nobody will stop them from declaring the results in this year’s election.

But the NDC MP for Bodi in the Western Region, like some others, says the comments are reckless and should not be entertained.

But today I’m convinced that the civil society groups in this country are so biased; Catholic Bishop Conference, I want to ask them whether they have heard this comment from Mac Manu.”

“I want to ask Professor Martey, the Presby Moderator whether he has heard that Mac Manu is drumming war songs today. I want to ask whether the Peace Council has heard Mac Manu say that he will declare results and damn the consequences. I want to ask IMANI Ghana, if they are not doing propaganda in this country, whether they have heard Mac Manu or the CDD, ISODEC and the so-called human rights group in this country. Tell them to condemn this unwarranted statement from the campaign manager from the NPP.”

He noted that “If this had come from an NDC person, they would have condemned it within 30 seconds.”

He said the NDC is ready to match the NPP boot for boot, if the party tries anything unorthodox in this year’s election.
