Many commuters who were on their way to work had to seek refuge at safer places.<\/p>\n<p>Several cars have also parked, but others are struggling through the rains although some roads\u00a0have been severely flooded.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News&#8217;<\/strong> Franklin Badu Jnr. who has been observing the situation around the Circle area reports that the Odaw River for instance has overflown it&#8217;s banks.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, visibility is also poor making it difficult for vehicular movement. He said the machines which are\u00a0being used to dredge the Odaw River, risk being swallowed by the water.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_221058\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-221058\" style=\"width: 768px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221058\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/flooding-here.jpg\" alt=\"Sahara Park road\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-221058\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sahara Park road<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221059 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/school-girl-flooding.jpg\" alt=\"school girl flooding\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News&#8217;<\/strong> Richard Mensah also reports that at Sahara, a suburb of Odawna, buildings have almost been covered by the floods, including a school, trapping pupils there.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221045 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/fc1b36dd-ca6f-4f67-8383-cc9f088d3f5f.jpg\" alt=\"fc1b36dd-ca6f-4f67-8383-cc9f088d3f5f\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rains which started around 4:00 am, is yet to stop.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221042 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/5cc937cc-d8f1-45e9-83b6-040700c45b0d.jpg\" alt=\"5cc937cc-d8f1-45e9-83b6-040700c45b0d\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some areas affected include Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Nungua, Teshie, parts of Kaneshie, Odawna, Dzorwulu, Asylum Down, Kasoa road, Mallam Junction among others.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221041 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/2f02fcc9-f5c3-47b5-a3e1-99be7c406755.jpg\" alt=\"2f02fcc9-f5c3-47b5-a3e1-99be7c406755\" width=\"720\" height=\"527\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Weather alert<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Ghana Meteorological Agency has predicted that the rains being experienced today [Thursday], will linger for a while and has thus advised Ghanaians to be cautious.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 720px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-221030-1\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/flooding.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/flooding.mp4\">http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/flooding.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>The Agency is asking Ghanaians to avoid places where there is fast flowing water and move from lower ground to higher places if need be.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221036 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/food-in-parts-of-accra-5.jpg\" alt=\"food in parts of accra (5)\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It also urged the general public to call emergency lines including 112 in case of any eventuality.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221044 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/315248d2-c9bb-4641-bd34-17d3d65995a7.jpg\" alt=\"315248d2-c9bb-4641-bd34-17d3d65995a7\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The information was captured in a brief statement signed by the Minister of Communications, Dr. \u00a0Edward Omane Boamah.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-221032 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/food-in-parts-of-accra-1.jpg\" alt=\"food in parts of accra (1)\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Godwin A.
